Joining a session: a code, a name and a level

No sign-up for players. A code from the host, your name and your level, and you are in the queue.

By Albert Antioquia · Updated

Players don’t need an account to play in a PaQueueKa session. Open the app, type a name and pick your level, and you have a profile. Everything below is free.

Getting in

  1. Get the code. The host shares a six-character session code, or shows a QR code. Codes skip letters that look alike (no O and 0, no I, 1 and L), so they are easy to read off a phone across a court.
  2. Join. Type the code or scan the QR in the app.
  3. Get accepted. The host sees your request and accepts it. Club members can skip this step if the host has turned on self check-in.

Someone without a phone, or without the app? The host adds them by name and they play the same as everyone else.

While you wait

  • See your place in the queue and who plays next on every court.
  • Need a break? Tap Sit out for a bit and the rotation skips you until you tap I’m back.
  • See your share of the fees and mark it paid.
  • Check the session rankings as results come in.

Watching without the app

Friends who aren’t playing can follow an active session in a browser at paqueueka.info/queuewith the session code: the queue, the courts and a simple ranking. The web view refreshes every few minutes, so it’s for keeping an eye on things rather than a live scoreboard. Club members can also follow a club session from inside the app.

Keeping your profile

Your games, stats and level live on your profile. Connect a Google or Apple account, or save a recovery code, and you can bring it to a new phone or a fresh install. Anyone with your recovery code can open your profile, so keep it private. Restoring with a code brings back your profile; paid plans come back through Restore purchases with the same App Store or Google Play account.

Badminton or pickleball

You keep a separate level for each sport. Your badminton level seeds your first pickleball session so you can play straight away, and you can change it any time. How levels are used is on the rotation modes page.

Questions people ask

Do players need an account to join?

No. Players type a name and pick a level in the app, then join with the host’s six-character code or QR. Connecting Google or Apple, or saving a recovery code, is optional and lets you move your profile to a new phone.

Can someone without the app play?

Yes. The host can add walk-ins by name, and they are rotated like everyone else.
